Why is it that people snore even children?
Posted by: | CommentsQ) My husband and son snore. What even disturbs me is my little son (6). I want to stop him from snoring.
A)I believe it goes back to the days of when men had to hunter for food. While they slept, they snore to mimic vicious animals growling as to deter other animals from coming near them. Just imagine 4 or 5 of these guys all snoring loudly out in some open plains… if you were a lion you wouldn’t want to come near them.
You can stop them from snoring but it will take time. They need practice and possibly medical help.
Snoring is normal but it is very annoying unless you snore too then it’s a symphony.
Is it true that you only snore when on your back?
Posted by: | CommentsQ) I just heard that it you sleep on your side or stomach you do not snore, it is only when on your back. Is this true or just an old wives’ tale? Thanks!
A) Not really, I have a very fat friend – he snores even while he fall asleep standing or siting. Then my another friend, closed his eyes and fall asleep and he snores and he is not fat at all. There are people who are so tired and they will snores, normally did not snores in their sleep. They might have a breathing problem. I am a dragon who sometimes snores too when I am tired, but very lightly – forgiven because I am a dragon
Why does it drive me crazy when other people snore?
Posted by: | CommentsQ) It drives me up the wall when other people snore. I don’t know why I have such a strong reaction to it. It can be any kind of snoring, high pitched and light to low with tons of bass. Either way, it drives me insane.
A) I thought that could drive anyone crazy! It interferes with your ability to fall asleep. Then as if the noise wasn’t bad enough, you become irritated and that gets you heart pumping. The you REALLY can’t sleep. There are some lucky people who pass out the moment they hit the pillow and would not wake up if the ceiling fell in on them. Not all of us are that lucky.
Q) Sometimes when I snore after I have been drinking, I wake up to find a large swolen lump in the back of my throat that is really unplesant.Any ideas? It kinda feels like there is a flap deep in my throat and it gets really swollen. It takes a couple of days to go back down.
A) That little flap in the back of your throat is just that, swollen. Look in the mirror. That little thing hanging down between your tonsils is what is swollen. (I can’t remember what it is called… your palate?) It moves when you snore. It has happened to me too.
Do you think it is annoying that I snore loudly on a airplane?
Posted by: | CommentsQ) I fly alot and take long flights frequently. I often fall asleep and apparantly snore “really loud”. I often awake to an audience ready to tell me that I snored and drooled for hours. My seatmate often tells me rudely they don’t want me snoring in their face. What’s the big deal?
A) You should think about others around you. When you are sharing a small space with other people you should be considerate. Everyone wants to have a comfortable and enjoyable trip when flying.
How many women out there snore?
Posted by: | CommentsQ) I’m doing a survey to see how many women snore or have sleep apnea. Since its always the women telling the men they snore. Has your husband or boyfriend told you snore or has your kids told you. Or when did you first start to snore? When did you know you snored?
A) I was told that I snored. I actually woke myself up one night from my own snoring. The back of my throat collapses when I am completely relaxed and this causes my snoring. I had nasal surgery and don’t snore anymore. I also had mild sleep apnea. Found this out after having a sleep study. A lot of women snore. They just don’t snore as loud as men do. I don’t know why.
Q) I’m 31 and I do snore. Not load apparently but I do. Any ideas?
A) Yes, it is true that overweight people tend to snore. You can try sleeping on your stomach or buy one of those snore stoppers (something you put on your nose) but I myself never tried it so I am not sure how useful it is. Most important, if it does not bother you, and nobody else sleeps with you, don’t worry about the snoring.
If you snore, do you still snore while sleeping in a sitting position?
Posted by: | CommentsQ) I snore and will be taking a few long flights soon. I would hate to embarrass myself by snoring but I suspect that I will fall asleep anyway. Since I will be sitting on the plane, Is it less likely that I will snore?
A) There are many natural and quite easier methods to stop your snoring. Though it might require little time, effort and money before you can actually see your snoring problems vanish, the traditional method of treating your snoring problems is still the best solution. One of the natural methods of curing snoring problems is with the help of nasal strips or nasal dilators. The aim here as in other snoring remedies is to broaden the air passage from the nasal valve to the throat and the lungs. This task can be effectively done by using a nasal strip.
How come men snore more than women?
Posted by: | CommentsQ) Well, i seem to notice that men snore more than women or at least louder at least. Also i know like snoring has to do with sinus problems or something, but how come when we’re young we don’t snore as bad as when we get older?
A) Twenty percent of all adults are chronic snorers, and 45% of normal adults snore occasionally. As people grow older, their chance of snoring increases. Approximately half of all individuals over 60 snore regularly.
I was told that i snore too much while sleeping. How can i stop snoring while sleeping?
Posted by: | CommentsQ) Though I cannot confirm this situation since i cannot hear myself while sleeping, but i believe it becouse my father use to snore very well and my brothers do too. How can i stop snoring with or without medication.I need help.
A) It’s possible to treat snoring through lifestyle modifications such as losing weight, quitting smoking, changing sleep habits, and avoiding alcohol and sedatives before you go to bed. If snoring is due to nasal congestion, nasal strips, decongestants, or nasal corticosteroid sprays may be used. If these modifications do not improve the snoring, then it is time to see a doctor.
